Pedagogical studies of Bishop Zygfryd Kowalski (1910-1995)

Abstract
: The aim of the reflections in the presented article is to present the course of Father Zygfryd Kowalski's pedagogical studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University (UMK). They represented an important stage in his preparation for pedagogical and journalistic activity. Two issues are highlighted in the reflections. The first relates to the examinations, which were an expression of the pedagogical studies programme at this university at the time, and the examiners. The second issue relates to the master's thesis and its core ideas. Primarily archival sources held in the UMK Archives have been used to present these issues. The article is a preliminary research proposal, referring to the activities and pedagogical views of the discussed clergyman and it is an introduction to further research on the pedagogical thought of Bishop Z. Kowalski, which the author intends to continue. The text is also a contribution to the history of university education in pedagogy after the Second World War.
