Learning from the Biography of the Other – on the Example of Reflections of Pedagogy Students: "My Personal Encounter with the Life and Work of Natalia Tułasiewicz"
Abstract
The article presents scientific research concerning the issue of biographical learning. Its main objective was to discover the educational potential of the biography of Blessed Natalia Tułasiewicz, the patroness of teachers through the recognition of the manner in which it affects its recipients: students of pedagogy. The research used the method of analysis of intentionally created documents - students' written essays on the topic: "My personal encounter with the life and work of Natalia Tułasiewicz". The biography of Natalia Tułasiewicz not only enabled us to broaden our knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the Second World War, the occupation, the resistance movement and the reality of concentration camps, but also turned out to be an excellent material for existential reflection on fidelity to professed values, the courage to make them a reality in all conditions, the construction of the course of life, reflection on the consequences of personal choices, the search for the meaning of life, and the dignified experience of loneliness and suffering. It is worth noting that the biography of Natalia was considered by the respondents as a source of inspiration for independent work on oneself, especially in the area of spiritual development.
